Cookies Based on Storage Duration

Depending on the period cookies are stored in the browser of the userwe could be dealing with:

  • Session Cookies
    Designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are normally used to store information with the sole purpose of rendering the service requested by the user on one occasion (e.g., a list of acquired products).
  • Persistent Cookies
    Data are stored longer in the computer and can be accessed and processed by the cookie-editor for a certain periodranging from one minute to several years.

  • Technical Cookies
    Those that allow the user to browse through a website, platform or application as well as the utilization of different options or services contained such as data flow and traffic control, session identification, access to restricted content, registration of all the components of an order, implementation of a purchase order or participation in an event, use of safety features during browsing, content storage for visual and audio dissemination or content sharing via social networks.
  • Personalization Cookies
    These cookies allow the user to access service with some general default features based on a series of criteria found in the user’s terminal, e.g., the language used, type of browser used in accessing the service, the regional settings where the service is being accessed from, etc.
  • Analytical Cookies
    These allow the cookie-editor to followup and analyze user’s behavior in the websites he or she is linked with. The information gathered through this type of cookies is used to measure website activity, the use of applications or platforms,and create browsing profiles of their usersto make improvements according to the analysis of usage data the service users generate.
